Dress for Success donates professional clothing anew

More women became recipients of professional clothing following the latest undertaking of Dress for Success, a group that aims to help women who are in need of business attire in order to get back in their feet. The global financial crisis has resulted to more women getting retrenched from their respective jobs and in order to get new ones, they need professional clothing.

Dress for Success CEO Joi Gordon said that the organization helps women get back on their feet, become independent and more confident.

Founder Pat Nathan added that the massive support from the community and volunteers has made all these things possible that’s why they will continue to do the good deed and hopefully the others will follow suit.

Companies are encouraged to make donations and can make their donations tax-deductible. Aside from professional clothing, the group also looks for dresses, purses and shoes.

Italian fashion houses give importance to online shoppers for holiday season

Major Italian fashion houses are now taking notice of the online market as it launches its respective online retail stores in time for the holiday season. This is a way to generate new sources of revenues.

Fashion companies such as Valentino Fashion Group and Giorgio Armani SpA, makers of luxury and business clothes, are currently testing its online systems and determine if it can now be used by online customers.

Online purchasing has become a trend following the noted increase in online luxury sales during the Christmas season in the past. The younger, internet-savvy consumers are now choosing what they like online and this could be applied to their preference for clothes.

As of now, still topping the list of most purchased items online for Italians are books, followed by clothes and shoes. With clothes taking the second place, there’s an ample opportunity for major players to offer their products over the internet.
