Fashion lingerie model Noemie Lenoir, who’s working for retail giant Marks & Spencer, grabbed headlines this week after she was found unconscious in her Paris home. Initial reports revealed that the model made a suicide attempt by taking several drugs with alcohol.
Lenoir is the current girlfriend of ex-Chelsea football player Claude Makelele. Mekelele called the emergency services after he found her unconscious girlfriend last Sunday. This was revealed by a source from the police department.
The thirty year-old model, who also modeled for Gap, Next and Victoria’s Secret, became conscious minutes later after the call and the ambulance service was cancelled.
However, she was found unconscious once more after she left the house by herself several hours later. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where medical officials discovered she consumed large quantities of alcohol and drugs. The officials said that she’s in good condition.
Two charitable groups have joined forces to collect professional clothing for those who are in need.
The Bottomless Closet and Student Employment Services (JOBshop) have combined their resources together to accept donations of professional clothing for both men and women.
The Bottomless Closet provides aspiring employees their needed outfit in time for a job interview or those who have just started their jobs but have no means to dress up properly for such. This means that aside from the professional clothing, the organization also helps in building career skills and image enhancement.
JOBshop’s Joanne Johnson-Clauser said that clients are referred to their organization and that they assist them in any way they can. The good thing is that their services are free.
Johnson-Clauser said that they have received donations in large numbers which can only mean that their efforts have been a great success and they look forward to similar activities in the future.
Nike Incorporated Chief Executive Officer Mark Parker said that the retail clothing giant plans to increase its revenues for the next five years by forty percent by focusing on international markets via its numerous array of brands.
Parker said that they’re not only focusing on sporting goods but other ventures as well such as business clothing and other brands. He believes that their projects are “quantifiable.” These revelations were made during the investor conference in New York late last week.
The company plans to increase its sales revenues by $27 billion five years from now. In its recent fiscal year figures, the company posted revenue of $19.3 billion.
The bulk of its revenues came from its namesake brand. However, Parker said that they are getting increased figures from its other businesses such as Umbro, Hurley and Converse. He said that Converse is expected to double its size for the next two years.
The 2010 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week officially kicked off on Thursday with stunning headpieces and frocks impressing the audiences.
Designer Camilla Franks impressed the audience with her creation which was inspired from the blockbuster film Avatar. Two female models wore only body paint and g-strings similar to the movie’s female lead character. Her creation positively matched those from the James Cameron film due to the bold prints of her line.
The fashion event has gained popularity due to the emergence of fresh talents with outstanding creations.
Several clothes have already made a mark on the audiences. The lesser known designers and their creations were featured on the first day of the week. The biggest names in the local industry are expected to show their creations later in the week.
Attractive ready-to-wear products will grace the catwalk later in the week, according to reports from fashion sites.
